After two years of postponements and cancellations it was wonderful to see Port Macquarie and its surrounding areas buzzing with the arrival of thousands of inspirational triathletes, all ready to compete in the 2022 National Storage Ironman Triathlon. This is an event which is close to the heart of a number of the team behind Thrumster Business Park.
“What a way to showcase our stunning area” said Trevor Groeneveld Owner/Developer of Thrumster Business Park “I have volunteered at the event before and greatly enjoyed my day at the beginning of the month whizzing around with the Race Compliance Director on the back of my bike. This year proved to be even more special, as my great friend, three time ASBK Superbike Champion, Glenn Allerton, joined me as a Volunteer Bike rider on the course. Glenn is a huge supporter of the event and the area and it was an honour to be joined on the road by such a legend of racing. The two of us were blown away by the commitment shown by the competitors and were exceptionally happy to see local athlete Tim van Berkel achieve his first victory at the full distance in his home town on the 35th Anniversary of the Event.“
